Book Progress Update

Updated: Feb 6, 2020

Editing

- Completed full mechanical, rhetorical, and stylistic edit.

- Finishing work on making the dwarvish brough-English speech more consistent in The Fairy and the Dwarf without being over-the-top and hard to decipher. Lots of contractions, missing sounds and grammar simplification as in Scottish and Irish brough dialects of English. The dwarves of Kheled Mor in The Dwarven Prince do not use this brough, but speak standard Common Tongue (English) as well as their own native dwarvish.

Fictional World Development

- Redid the Aralyn map for The Dwarven Prince and put the map scale on it. Much better graphical quality now. Also changed some place names.

- Completed more development of the language of the Huem (means humans - pronounced like the German spelling hüm). Basing it on Germanic tongues with some influence from the Celtic languages and a little Russian.

- Made some more progress with elvish. Inspirations for it include the Celtic languages and Finnish.

- Still fiddling with the dwarvish language and how this will impact certain spoken utterances in both The dwarven Prince and The Fairy and the Dwarf. Hopefully will be done today. My dwarvish draws influence from Arabic, Russian, German, and Navajo.

Website Work:

- Will update the Website today with the new map and additions to Aralyn's history.

- Will create a section for work-in-progress descriptions of the three languages I am building.
