POEM: THE ESSENCE OF A MAN

The essence of a man is not to

be tough

dominate and intimidate

woo and screw

flex his muscles

or take another’s life

 

The essence of a man is to

 live free as the wind

know himself

walk through fear and fire

and blaze the way

for others to follow

​

Aware of the choice he makes

and how it may turn to joy

for those he loves

​
